Mary in portuguese is Maria, which was the name of my late great grandmother who was also a practitioner of Roman Catholicism, a Marian devotee since childhood. This piece is an homage to her, sculpted with air dry clay and gesso, painted with acrylics and finished with faux gold leaf, varnish and uv resin.
